Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Recap

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Season 1 | Episode 10

This week kicks off with Jen feeling sad, mad and guilty all at once for the way she behaved at her husband’s surprise birthday party the week prior. I get why she was mad but the way she blew up was completely unnecessary and 100% for the cameras, in my opinion. I guess her husband is fully not talking to her now though because of it, so we’ll see how this plays out.

On the other hand, Whitney acting like she did nothing wrong is not correct. Although I do think Whitney had good intentions to let Jen know Lisa and Meredith were potentially talking behind her back, telling her this information at her freaking husband’s birthday party was not the time or the place to do so.

Whitney informs Mary that she confronted Jen about everything Mary told her, and even Mary knows that wasn’t the right thing to do! Oh, Whitney. I personally don’t believe Meredith and Lisa told Mary that they were afraid of Jen, but here we go.

We get an inside look at Heather’s Beauty Lab business as they are finally breaking ground on a building. It’s really cool seeing Heather get financially independent and not needing to rely on her ex-husband for support anymore – you go girl. Heather hopes she can be as bold in all aspects of her life as she is at Beauty Lab, and I hope that for her too.

Next Meredith, Lisa and their husbands are out to dinner and I will say I really like the four of them – they seem like true, genuine friends. Meredith announces that her and Seth have officially reconciled which Lisa is extremely happy about. Thanks to Whitney, Meredith now knows Jen has been spreading rumors about Meredith and Seth’s marriage so here’s another storyline we’re going to have!

Now Whitney, Heather and Jen go out to the middle of nowhere to “soak” – AKA sit in a hot tub in the middle of the woods. Jen is not happy about their surroundings, and honestly I don’t really blame her; it’s not a place I’d necessarily want to spend my day either.

Whitney immediately starts to apologize to Jen which in response brings tears, cursing and yelling on Jen’s behalf. Whitney is still insistent that she didn’t do anything wrong, and Jen feels the same way. Jen proceeds to splash the camera (because that makes sense) and storms out of the hot tub. She eventually comes back (more calmly) where Heather tearfully admits that she’s terrified she’s going to lose Jen’s friendship. Jen ends up accepting Whitney’s apology and tells Heather that she can always talk to her and things between these 3 ladies seem to end on a good note… for now.

The episode ends with Lisa throwing a little tequila party for a few girlfriends and Coach Shaw finally coming home to Jen. He doesn’t like how Jen can’t control her emotions when she drinks, to where she admits that she drinks to numb the pain; the pain from him being gone all the time and the pain of still grieving over the loss of her dad. The two of them actually have a very mature conversation and end up working things out. I never thought I’d say this, but Jen and Coach Shaw actually just set a great example of how you can healthily work through arguments; who would’ve known!

Next week it looks like the Salt Lake City ladies take a little girls trip on down to my hood – Vegas! See ya then!
